It's now been officially a month since I quit my job.
Holy moly does time fly by when you are NOT working and having FUN!

I am shocked (OK, not really) how busy I have been since I haven't been at a full time job and the sheer happiness I have felt not driving an hour each way to work, feeling miserable in my job and being a better wife, sister, aunt, and friend since I have quit.

I nanny a couple of days a week and that keeps me on my toes. I love doing it - having a flexible schedule, being home when Stephen is home, cook, do laundry, whatever!

Have you ever gone grocery shopping in the middle of the morning??? It's glorious! There are hardly any people and everything isn't picked over.

I really have enjoyed wearing jeans and t-shirts everyday. I don't have to wear slacks and a nice ironed shirt!

It sometimes is the simplest and smallest things that make the biggest difference.

I am thankful for this season of rest from my 8-5 job and more time enjoying life.

  1. Glad you are enjoying it! It sounds like it was truly the right time to get out of a bad situation. And, I love that you are living each day to it's fullest :)

  2. I hope you get to be like this the REST of your life...kiddos will come and it's the most rewarding job ever! I remember quitting my old marketing job to stay home...for me, it was the hardest decision I had to make - seriously, is that sad? I was due for a promotion, I would be getting my own office - but boy o boy am I glad I quit to stay home. Time is precious.

  4. This happened to me last March after we got married, and I didn't go back to work until June. Best months of my life! And yes, having everything done when the Mr comes through the door is amazing... and I enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait until that day comes again when I can be a stay at home mom!
